We backfill with pea stone and sand, then cap-off with topsoil. We also install clean outs on the corners of the home for future inspection purposes.
If moisture is coming through your floor inside, this is more than likely due to the drain tiles becoming separated or being full of sediment. To fix this issue, our basement waterproofing experts saw, cut, and jackhammer the concrete floor eighteen inches from the exterior basement walls around the entire perimeter of the basement. Then, we remove the old concrete and floor drain tiles from the basement, dig down eight inches and remove the dirt and put a new drainage system in. We then backfill around the pipe with pea stone to the bottom of existing concrete height, re-pour concrete. Sometimes, a new sump pump crock may be required. If there is no sump crock, there is likely a gravity drain that may be clogged or needs to be replaced. And other times, there are no tiles at all.
